A Safe Space for True Transformation
Where you find the clarity you need to thrive.
Anxiety, grief, trauma,
self-doubt, or relationship issues?
These are hard to navigate alone. I offer a safe, supportive, judgement-free space for real, lasting growth.
Whitney Wessels, MSW, LICSW
I’m Whitney—the W(h)it behind Whit Wonder Wisdom Counseling, Inc. I believe that by gently untangling the threads of our past, we can find a deeper, more authentic connection in our lives today. I work with individuals and couples to bridge the gap between their history and their present, specifically exploring how early attachment shapes current relational patterns, daily functioning, and professional life.
With over a decade of experience in medical settings, I specialize in supporting doctors and medical professionals in managing high-stress environments and the delicate balance of blending personal lives with professional demands. I also offer a particular skill set for those navigating the complexities of cancer care, serious illness, and grief.
I also work with couples and individuals who wish to strengthen their partnerships, increase intimacy, and rediscover joy in their relationships. I am a sex-positive, poly-friendly, and kink-aware therapist who warmly welcomes all intersections of LGBTQ+ identity and gender.

A secure, comfortable space to explore your emotions
I use validation, wit, psychoeducation, and honest communication to explore emotions and develop a secure, comfortable space. In sessions, I help my clients reflect on current stressors and soothe past hurts. I encourage clients to connect with their authentic selves and re-establish confidence. Throughout the work, clients connect emotionally, establish new patterns of interaction, and re-develop a secure base with loved ones.
A range of clinical approaches to improve your well-being
I draw from a range of evidence-based approaches to promote insight and emotional access. My practice is grounded in a trauma-informed, attachment based lens. To support your healing, I integrate parts work to help you understand the different, sometimes conflicting, internal voices that shape your reactions, as well as somatic (body-based) work to help you release the physical tension that trauma often leaves behind.
As an Emotionally Focused Therapist and a Certified Gottman Therapist, I help couples alleviate distress, increase the power of relational repairs, and gently de-escalate conflict cycles.
I am also trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and Cognitive Behavioral (CBT) strategies.
